While I've had my share of moments of being over-stressed and freaking out, I've known too many people who suffer from full-blown anxiety attacks and who's stressors leave them barely able to function when they hit. Randomly I stumbled across the article linked below and felt like sharing. It's by someone who wrote a book about 'Peak Performance' who (much to their surprise) afterwords developed stress/anxiety mental illness. It's a good reminder that such issues can afflict anyone, and for those of us who don't suffer such I hope it'll remind us to be more understanding of those who do. As the article writer noted, we don't blame folks for getting the flu - we shouldn't blame them for suffering mental diseases either. And at times external help is absolutely needed and should be sought out; no one should have to go through this sort of thing alone.

Dealing with it.
I've come to the conclusion that my transition experience was bogus and I am thankful that I learned about the Native American Two Spirit model. Given a do over, there would have been no surgery or hormones and I'd be a girl when it suited me and otherwise not. Never had a speck of being gay.
Treatment for severe PTSD has been helpful and I haven't disassociated in a while, though I still get Panic Attacks though have not called the Crisis line recently. What happened to me was deeply unjust but the pain is diminishing. I was completely blindsided by the Religious Community and my own family. The medical community were complete jerks.
You learn to "try to make the best of a bad situation".
