Monique's book What If deserves a mantel not a book shelf. The lady has matched art, marketing, book cover design and took it to a new level. If this book was in the book store, the front cover facing out as I haphazardly scanned the titles, there would be no way I could resist picking it up. We all know the "I wish" category but I really wish I had thought of book marketing like this as an editor. All of us tried to make our books stand out from the crowd on the book shelves with all kinds of gimmicks, foil, hologram, catchy titles, etc. In our effort to be different we all followed the standard pattern for book publishing. Which meant we weren't really any different. Her book has all the ISBN numbers, bar codes, etc and most certainly must be registered and copy right to have all that. Congratulations to a lady who deserves it.
What If was published on BCTS by Monique so I imagine a few of you know the story. A young student of Greek mythology travels to Cyprus and finds ancient tales of past gods and goddesses aren't that ancient. It is a well paced story of intrigue, adventure, and tons of danger.
