Part 3 of Call of the Light is up! This one took a bit more editing than expected, several scenes needed slight re-writes. But this completes the first half of book 3 of what I've mentally been calling the 'Heaven's Light Saga'. This part bears witness to the attack on Whateley (oh no!) and a small peek into the beginnings of Heaven's history...

I'd like to dedicate this whole book to my best friend (brother in all but name) without whom this tale would never have been. This past year we came far too close to losing him; fortunately he's doing much better now. He prefers to remain utterly anonymous (and doesn't visit big closet), but he deserves acknowledgement all the same. While the version of the story as presented here is its own, his spark of imagination helped fuel not just the themes but even a few specific characters re-adapted for use in this telling. He's pushed me for years to retell it all in some form and is happy that it's finally getting done. (Even if more slowly than we'd both like! Gah!) Being a goober he's waiting for the entire book to have its editing complete before reading any of it because he hates waiting for that sort of thing. All the more motivation to get it done!!

I'm just incredibly grateful that he's still with us; I dunno what I'd do if he were to wander on 'Upstairs' without me so soon.
