I have not written a short story for years. I have tried on several occasions, but I never get beyond a page. My Muse just hasn't been around. I looked and looked for her, but no matter how hard I wanted to write, I couldn't.
Just after Christmas I started writing again. I currently have over 12,500 words on 32 pages. I am thrilled to be writing again. Today I posted the first chapter of the story, Cindy at Music Camp. Six years with nothing and now this. I think I might even be able to finish the story before the end of January, but no guarantees there. Life stopped all creative writing for over 2 weeks. Today I have written over 4,000 words, but this is the first I have managed to write since January 6th. I am aiming for the end of the month for the contest, but to be honest, I started writing this before I knew anything about the contest. I am just glad to be writing again.

It's wonderful for a beloved friend or family member who has disappeared for years, to reappear. It might even resemble spontaneously recovering after six years of a debilitating disease.

Inner Muse
My muse is not a person, but a personality. A creative side of me that comes out and does most of my writing. She is fun and creative. She loves adventures, is mischievous, and sneaky. I wish I could be as free and fun as my muse, but at least I get to enjoy it as I create my characters.
