I marveled that I had been able to get through the rather narrow door between the two cabins with a butt like that. I turned around and looked at it over my shoulder, pulling my hair out of the way because it was long enough to obscure the view.
It was so big, it looked like a joke. Gammon might have been patting me there to see if it was real. “Oh lord,” I thought. “Why am I such a perfect ass?” Which threatened me with more hysterical giggles.
At least no one was making mermaid jokes.
But I did have legs. Mermaids don’t have legs, do they?

I love the pic of the tall ship you have on this chapter!

It's from the right era and about the right size. :) Also, it's flying a red ensign as required of merchant ships, but I don't recognize the detail of the Union. It seems to be St. George and St. Andrew without St. Patrick (which would be right for the date) and without the white field around St. George which is very curious and I can find no info on that variation.
