Well...
The Catholic Church views straight and gay the "same." Both are children of God. Both are sinful. Both need to reconcile with God. The Pope is a pastor first. So, his words of are that of a pastor: "God loves you even in your sinfulness."
Now sex outside of marriage is a sin; it is equally a sin for both straight and gays. Since the Catholic view of marriage requires and openness for procreation, I doubt the Catholic Church will start marrying gays.
Nothing changes.
The Catholic Church, like all monotheist religions (and most of the others as well,) is all about, sex, money and control. Much like prostitution in many ways!!
Religion?
George Carlin got it right.
The Pope
Just told Italian cardinals not to enrol gay priests.
Not in my Job Description
I am not gay or any of that so how can I possibly know what that is like. While I might yield to the right man, I still love a nice round butt though managing a woman in a relationship is a thankless task, and I no longer have the tool.
You have to manage her well
After 51 years at it, I think I've reach journeyman level and have a long way to go to become a master at it. But by this time, it's far from thankless.
