Living in the US Midwest our weather is quite unpredictable and sometimes has rapid changes especially winter weather. I've seen winters where the snow banks around my driveway and walkways at my house were so high that walking to and from the car was like walking through a maze with high white walls with temps dropping to negative 40 below. Then I've seen winters where puddles of water on the ground never freeze enough to step on without breaking through the ice.

But those could be called the extremes, usually we fall somewhere in the middle. Normally this time of year our temp hovers right around freezing, 32 for us in the US and 0 for you guys that use Celsius. And from what the weatherman says we have about a 40% chance of a white Christmas each year.

Three days ago many were outside in short sleeve shirts, everyone thought the chance of a white Christmas was pretty bleak. With the unusually warm weather it was pretty difficult to get into the Christmas spirit.

This morning I woke to find the ground, the cars outside in the driveway, everything covered in white and a fine white powder falling from the sky.

Yes it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone, may your Christmas wishes be fulfilled!

Just had the reminder

As I shoveled the walk a little bit ago I was reminded that while very pretty, snow is still a four letter word. :)

We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Snow

Over here in Germany Christmas Eve is the main part of Christmas, so we are right now in the middle of festivities without any snow at 7°C.
We had some snow the first two weekends of December and last Monday.

Stay safe, stay warm, and have a Merry Christmas.

and most of canada

is in the -27 range. Send the warm temps here please. That's minus 27 c.

Re: and most of Canada

You and Dot might be freezing your proverbial tails off, but here in Toronto, it's only -3°C (27°F). *sticks tongue out* Nyah, nyah!

We've had some snow on the ground for two or three days, and we're due to get 15 to 20 cm of it today (six to eight inches).

Wish I was that jolly this time of year.

Right now I am almost down to sharpening the Knives, for the back stabbing and fighting.
But I glad to see others enjoy this time of the year. I lost the spark so long ago, maybe some day i will find it again. The fact that others are enjoying it does bring me joy.

White stuff

I live in a part of the world where Christmas means hot weather. Christmas eve this year it was 42°C/107°F. Christmas day has been a mild 23°C/73°F. We never get snow (the Pacific ocean is way too warm)
