Ridiculous though it sounds, my heart rate is raised as I write this. Quite frankly I'm suffering from author's nerves. After my first two novels about Harriet Stow, namely "The Might- Have-Been Girl" and then "All the World's a Stage", I took a few months off writing. However, Harriet and Reggie's story was not finished, so now I've embarked on Episode Three, "There is Nothing Like a Dame", thus publishing my first trilogy. Once more I have received a great deal of help from Louise Ann and Julia Phillips in checking the text, and to them is added Karen Lockhart who will check the American chapters. The number of typos they've picked up is amazing, especially as I checked the text a number of times.That proves that you should never try to proofread your own work! I'll post the first chapter tomorrow, and hope that readers of the previous two novels find it entertaining.
