This week's column from Tristan Taormino takes a look at what she characterizes as a new wave of "tranny porn". She reviews a number of movies featuring transmen. The reviews are explicit. The films don't sound like ones I'll be looking for, but I merely pass this column on for educational purposes in case anyone is interested.
Let me repeat that the rating I chose for this entry was "Extremely Explicit." So, don't click on this unless you're okay with that. The article itself isn't what I would characterize as porn, just a review, but the subjects discussed are not for the faint of heart.

I'm afraid that is "a bridge too far" for me. Let me make sure I understand that this is a shemale having sex with whom? A Woman, a man, a trans woman? Oh, I'd happily have sex on screen but it would have to be....Let me see did I get that right???

No, Gwen. I think you've got the wrong picture. These are transmen, FTMs, men who used to be women. And, just to be confusing, I believe in a couple of the films mentioned, they're having sex with each other.
In a sense, transmen have an even more marginalized existence than transwomen. The available genital surgery is extremely poor and unsatisfactory, to the point it's no longer seriously considered by most transmen. This has lent more argument to the validity of the "genderqueer" category, which in a sense, might benefit us all. In defining what makes a "man", transmen have moved the focus away from the genitals.
Anyway, it's all very socio-sexual-politically complicated, but I instinctively feel that acceptance for FTMs is necessary if MTFs and the rest of us gender outlaws are to get out from under the thumb of discriminatory laws and practices. So, to everyone else who might respond, please be kind in your words and thoughts to our brothers, even if you're not a fan of wild, kinky porn!
