Well,it is eight hours later, and I seem to have survived my cataract surgery. It was kind of interesting. The doctor has a sort of assembly line set up, with about eight people prepping and/or assisting. It was about an hour and a half of waiting and being prepped, and eventually I was one of the four on gurney's waiting to be wheeled in to the OR. The operation only took about 10 or 15 minutes, during which I could do nothing except "stare at the light" while he did his stuff. No feelings of cutting, but they poured so much solution into the eye that I felt they were floating the cataract away. Who knows, maybe they are.

Anyway, already it seems better. Over the last 6 months I slowly lost the ability to read the graphics on the TV for sporting events, and it all seems clear now.

Five more weeks and then they do the other eye.

Thanks to all of my readers who offered love and comfort in their comments, and as a present I will be albe to keep the weekly schedule of River.

My mother had cataract surgeries and good results. Get well soon and enjoy things.

Happy to hear it

Hopefully you recover well, and here's to wishing that the other one will go just as well.

Had mine done

Last January I took six weeks off work to have my cataract surgery on both eyes. I only had to wait one week between surgeries. It was indeed an interesting experience. They spent their sweet time with the prep and then it was "show time". In and out in less than twenty minutes and no "recovery" time. On the way out of the clinic I was seeing better.

I was kind of freaky knowing what they were doing and while it didn't hurt, I could feel the doctor poking around in the eye.

I'm told what they do is make a tiny incision in the outer layer, of the two, eye coverings, insert a prob and pulverize the lens with ultra sound and then vacuum it out. Then insert the artificial lens, which is rolled up like a burrito, and unroll it.

Then they wheeled me out and sent me on my way. I couldn't be happier with my new eyesight.

Hugs
Patricia

That is Great news. XD

It sounds like everything went very well with the first eye. I hope that everything goes as well with the other eye, too. Thanks for letting us know.
