For an article in the Sunday Times she wrote in which she apparently suggested that transwomen are not real women. It got a mention in the Guardian and some of the comments are more interesting than the article.

Interesting that are trans-women who agree with her position
All I can say is for those ladies is speak for yourself, when it comes to being a latecomer to transitioning that you had 'enjoyed male privilege' etc.
I transitioned early 20s so any 'male privilege' I might have enjoyed has been extremely limited. Nor do I exhibit characteristics of my former gender and such. I really hate it when even our own can be so brain dead.
Of course it implies that teen transitioners are not 'real women' either. Or transwomen who do not opt to have completed surgery are not 'real women'. Stupid old cows all of them, projecting their own inadequacies on the rest of us.
To be a real woman
One of my own subconscious fears is that I worry about being a real woman, hence the origin of my recent story "The Woman". This despite the fact that oddly no one seems to rumble me unless I stupidly reveal my past. Sadly, I have been unable to consummate a male/female relationship because of my own scruples, which I came by in childhood.
I just spent 2 weeks with a quite handsome and hot Saudi Arabian man, so I was completely Hijab'd in his presence. One thing led to another and I had a couple very vivid dreams about his "taking me". I was in the next room, so hope that he did not hear my moans of passion, assuming there were any. He left some of his things, so I will know there is trouble if I wake up with my face buried in one of his shirts. Sigh ...

That doesn't make sense
By invoking "male privilege" it implies that the new woman gave something up or took a step down stature.
As to the rest of it, no one can say what is in someone else's brain/heart. Can a cis woman describe what it feels like to be a "real woman?" So how can they know what someone else feels like?

Given that most trans people are abused and bullied I'm not sure what privilege we are supposed to have enjoyed. I'm not going to suggest one group or another has suffered more, but I would suggest that one type is as bad as the other.

Who has (has had) more priveledge?
Someone who has had a painful (or even dangerous) early life; is prepared to submit to hormone regimes which carry a significant risk, and surgey with a higher risk; or someone who cruised through grammar school and University at the public's expense[note]?
And then criticising trans-women for wanting to fit in rather than stand out, of being obsessed by appearance (re the Reverend Carol) after having behaved like this this in respect of the after effects of breast cancer: "She informed her audience that her prognosis was good; she did indeed return early in 2007. She reported that the most emotionally upsetting moment was losing her hair, and used this as an item on the centrality of hair to definitions of femininity."

Note of Disclosure: I had the same benefit (seven years earlier), and I am very grateful for it. But I don't preach to, or about, those who left school at 15.
You can't win with haters
For the Extreme Feminists (aka TERFs), transwomen who try to fit in are not true women because they have bought into the swill the Patriarchy tries to instill in women as to how to behave and dress etc, being a stereotype.
Now this old cow comes along and complains we don't fit enough into the traditional behavior and roles as women.
