I really do not worry or wonder much about number of reads on stories I post here and elsewhere, but if the data is easily available, like it is here, I do check it out sometimes.

Looking at the numbers once in a while here in the last year, I've noticed that my two stories' readership is (in my eyes) amazing, and the reads per day can be insane; sometimes none, regularly one or two, sometimes almost a dozen (whaaaat!?) reads in a day. Holy s*&t !!!

I mean, I suppose the cartoon one maybe gets more reads because people click on the pics and thereby it gains an unfair readership number (16,000 or so now, reduce that to say 3-4000 actual), but with the text-only one still clocking in at about 7,000 I feel vaguely famous (I'm totally kidding, but still... :p )

It just feels awesome. Even if I divide the cartoon story by around 6 to account for pic-clicking and reduce the text story readership by half (to account for readers who read it but didn't like it or finish it), and divide THAT by half to account for repeat-readers, that's still like.... say, 2,500 people (out of a total of 23,000 actual 'clicks') who read my stories and liked them.

That number feels huge. And it really improves any day where I'm feeling blue.
