To me, it says that the proud parents will be accepting of the child if it is trans.

That one went straight into my humorous images folder. To me, it says that sex and gender are no longer certain or immutable things, like they once used to be, nor are sex and gender always in alignment. The cartoonist’s take on this development is a bit less clear. Acceptance? Resignation? Satire? All the above?

I hope it means that our society will come to accept that "It's a boy" or "It's a girl" is only a preliminary assessment and while that is usually correct it may be subject to change, and that it is acceptable and even OK.
