A few obscure html tags that can be useful in stories and info posts. Checking to see if they work here.

Here are the "simple" ones. Hover the mouse cursor over the marked words to see the results:

--works in IE and Mozilla/Firefox, IE has no indication,
M/F has dotted underline--
acronym tag
<acronym title="transsexual">TS</acronym>
TS

--works in Mozilla/Firefox, indicated by dotted underline--
abbr tag
<abbr title="transvestite">TV</abbr>
TV

dfn tag
<dfn title="transgender">TG</dfn>
TG

There's yet another way that works in pretty much everything, but it requires javascript and CSS (and thus isn't going to work on BC)

Drat the simple tags don't work here either.

Allowed HTML

Added ABBR to the list of allowed HTML but it still doesn't show up. All of those tags are deprecated in HTML5 so some browsers just ignore them.

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.

Thanks for adding the tag.

Thanks for adding the tag.

So far it's worked in all the browsers I've tried.
Firefox 40.0 works, tagged material underlined
IE 7.0.5730.13 works, no marking
Opera 23.0 works, no marking
Safari 5.1.7 works, no marking

Only abbr tag working for me

I use Firefox (currently 40.0.2) on Windows 7 Professional. The abbr tag now works for me (it didn't with Firefox 39.0.0), but the others do nothing.

Erin only enabled the abbr

Erin only enabled the abbr tag on BC.
She didn't enable acronym or dfn.

On other sites they should work.
