Only just got back from my leaving do - scampi n chips and a game of skittles - we do things in such high style in darkest Dorset. Actually my house looks like a florist's shop but the scents are delightful and my colleagues gave me a nice contribution towards the microscope I want to buy to dissect owl pellets.
For those not in the know, owls swallow their prey whole and the bones and fur/feathers come up in the shape of a pellet. The mammal society runs a scheme in which volunteers dissect these out and identify the bones for data on what owls are hunting with special emphasis on identifying the mammal bones. I'm hoping to become involved in this in the near future.
So, the reason for posting this is to say I don't have time to write Bike tonight, but will hopefully be back to my scribbling tomorrow.

I seem to remember someone I
I seem to remember someone I knew writing a whole little story about owl pellets hitting churchbells at high velocity.... I don't recall it much but it was so hilarious I cried laughing....
Enjoy your night off and pay no attention to the clutch of urchins lurking away, empty bowls in hand...
Congratulations!
I hope you have a great retirement.
You'll probably be busier retired than
working full time. Many interests and hobbies.
My Retirement
It was an evening at The Queen And Mangosteen in Singapore. Various kinds of alcohol (and soft drinks for the Muslim girls) and finger-food. It's a lovely view across the water to Sentosa. If you're ever in Singapore do go there. It's an evening I will treasure.
Free at last!
What to do now? The common theme amongst retired friends seems to be "how did I ever find time to work?" This question doesn't have relevance to those of us still slaving away, of course ;)
However, I do hope the sun shines extra bright in the mornings now that it is all yours to enjoy.

Early retirement Ang?
I don't seem to remember you ever mentioning your age (and I'll not ask - it's rude,) but if it's the normal age and time then congratulations on getting there in one piece, (well no - actually- not quite in one piece) but whole and healthy and all importantly happy. Enjoy your retirement and I'm sure you'll have plenty to do besides poking around in owl sick. Seriously though, enjoy yourself and congratulations once again. I'm happy for you babes.
Love and hugs,

I'm only semi-retiring
though I have reached that age when the government actually pays me to stay at home. The object is to spend no more than three days a week working, so next week I'm doing six - duh!

by that
Definition I must be retired as I only work 5 days!
Enjoy each day - maybe you can get out on two wheels more regularly!
