For many years a story idea had been mulling around in my head. The idea was based on a family traveling upon the Oregon Trail. Around June of 2014, I began to dabble with the formulation of the story and as it took off, I wrote as often as I could.
In January of 2015 I had 'finished' it and sent it off to my most trusted Editor, JP. He went through it one time, sent it back and I tweaked it and resent it to him for another go around. The story has gone through at least three 'tweaks' since it was first written.
Originally, I had intended the story to be a book that I would put up for sale - but after my first one went out, I realized that stories set in the 1800's don't really do well as an e-reader. I thought considerably on whether to publish it as a book and have finally decided to forgo the e-book route and release it on Big Closet in chapters. The money would have been nice, but the bother was just too much to want to deal with.
This will take awhile to post. A Love So Bold is finished but it is a really lengthy story. If I were to print it, it would be over 200 pages - of 12 point type. There are over 60 chapters. I really want to take my time with it and release 1 or 2 chapters a week until it is complete, that way some readers won't be intimidated by its size.
I am expecting my first grandchild very soon - so I'd like to enjoy his arrival with my family. :o) However, once I publish the initial chapter,I plan to post every weekend until it is complete.

I got to read a copy a few months back. Long but very satisfying
Our dear author took a well known TG fiction *universe* and put a neat spin on it.
He has dabbled in this one before. Nicely I must say but this one surpasses them.
Will be well worth a read when it posts.
Bravo for finishing it, Anon.

Period Piece?
So, is it still set in the 1800's?

Is the story period set in 1800's?
Yes, my story is set around 1860, at the tail end of the Oregon Trail's usefulness. I paid quite a bit of attention to character building and realism. I'm proud of it and have gotten good comments from those who were my beta readers.

It is set in the time of the big push into the Oregon teritiory
Organized wagon trains, ferry crossings and crude roads in places.
Hard to say if it is pre or post Civil War .
The time period is not defined as I recall.
It is clearly pre transcontinental railway.
Been a few months since I read it.

Looking forward to it.
Yes, I would love to read it when you publish it.
I once read a story by "The Old Guy", that did something similar. It started as they were coming off of Mt Hood and ended in a settlement out in the Salem area. It was mildly BDSM and polygamist, but still fun.
