Is anyone else wondering why Caitlin Jenner is getting all these kudos for coming out and identifying as transsexual?
Where were the kudos when we came out? We were doing it for decades before her!
Am I jealous? You betcha. Being bitchy about it too.
This pat on the head feels to me like a slap in the face!

In her previous life, she gained fame and fortune as an athlete - then got involved with a family who rose to fame via reality TV and somehow managed to keep themselves perpetually in the media spotlight - no doubt gaining more fame and fortune en-route.
If you're already in the media spotlight, significant life decisions are likely to get widely reported - and as the media tends to have a positive bias towards people at the upper end of the age spectrum, most coverage of their significant life decisions tends to be positive.
Unlike mere mortals, who'll often get demonised and pilloried by the media.
With the likes of Caitlyn Jenner and Kellie Maloney coming out, it raises the public's awareness of those transitioning late in life, as opposed to pre-pubescents. They also remove a couple of common lines of attack for those particular individuals (baming the parents / sexual predator wanting to spy on ladies in restrooms). While they themselves (and their coverage) will probably do very little individually for the rest of the trans population (or raise awareness of the hurdles mere mortals have to cross to gain acceptance among family / friends / colleagues / the wider public / the legal system), if several more people in the media spotlight decide to transition over the next few years, the concepts may start getting embedded in the public consciousness and gradually start reducing the stigma (e.g. in several Western countries, there's very little stigma now attached to people of minority sexualities, so hopefully over time a similar process can happen with those of minority genders - although even then it may take significantly longer for non-binary genders to get embedded in the public consciousness).
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
she's famous simply put.
she's famous simply put. Which makes her more visible. So everyone will want to put their two cents in over this.
Talking
The good part is she got everybody talking about the trans problem. Who wants to look in the mirror and see a mask (Bailey Summer story). The talk is good , back and hypocritical .
The good things is are young trans kids are getting help early in life if the parents are educated and loving.
I'm looking forward...
.. to the time when some like Bruce Jenner becoming Caitlyn elicits the response: "Oh, OK," from the press and everyone else.
That will be true acceptance of trans anything. I love it when I go out as me and get no response other than what I'd have gotten masquerading as the guy everyone thinks I should be. .

Jealous?
Not at all. Just tired of hearing all about it, over and over and over an . . . .
I haven't seen anything at all that makes her more "special" than the rest of us.
I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.
