B B King died this past Thursday at 89. I saw and heard this great Blues Guitarist perform live several times. He also was an influence to other musicians over decades. God is in Heaven and listing to a great jam session.
He was also a WWII veteran. These heroes are getting rarer.

Most people would say that B.B. was the consummate showman. After producing one of his shows in St. Louis in 1976 at Playboy club, and after listening to his many interviews, I would have to say that the best description of B.B. is that he was the consummate gentleman. Like Ringo, he knew where a note or beat was needed and that's where he put it. Very thoughtful, very sparse, very technical, very tasteful. King of the Blues.
Go listen to Completely Well and Indianola Mississippi Seeds. Maybe not the ones that would please blues fans, (live at the Regal), but the ones that marked his impact on American culture and American music more than the others. Go on! B.B. and Carole King, Joe Walsh, Russ Kunkel, Hugh McCracken, Brian Garafolo and Leon 'fuckin' Russell?.......Get Out!!!
He was a true giant in music
I noticed his passing, too. I never got to hear him live, unfortunately.
