Its been a long haul I know but today, finally you get the last Gaby chapter of this book, Alpine Maid, here on BC!
There will be a short hiatus in posting but normal service will resume shortly.
In other news - On a day and course that cycling God Bradley described as 'brutal', @ 2000m of climbing in 140km of riding, I completed the very wet Tour de Yorkshire Ride in a little over 7 hours. Three days later and I'm still not 100%! Gaby the lucky moo did the 50km Cicletta which was run off in much drier conditions and didn't have a 6.30am start! But yay for Yorkshire - 1.5 million fans lined the roads over three days, only last years Grand Depart can claim bigger crowds - getting cheered when your legs are like jelly doesn't make it easier but it does lift your spirits. Next outing, the Petit Depart at Skipton in 3 weeks time.
Events - Gabycon is on and we are currently fleshing out the programme! Dates are 3,4,5 July based in Dorchester near Englands south coast. Programme up to now as follows;
- Friday - Evening meal with introductions
- Saturday - bike ride (optional) to Weymouth/Portland/Chesil with lunch en route and book readings, more tales of the Gabyverse after evening meal
- Sunday - excursion to Fleet Air Museum, Yeovil (details not confirmed so this may change) where we'll end the weekend late afternoon
We usually have a fun weekend, if you'd like to join us contact me here or at my usual email.
So that's it for this week
Tschussie!
