With the continuation of the recent trend of writers/authors taking down their stories to publish them commercially, I will be the most popular writer/author to have stories posted here on BigCloset in the very near future. (In the Galactic sense of time, maybe even the Geologic sense.) At THAT point all the readers left here will be FORCED to read my stuff, whether it is worth reading or not.

Ooh, I can feel the overwhelming pressure of all that adulation
It is as if a compression of time of about 6 quintillion to one is allowing me to absorb all that future, resoundingly positive recognition of my efforts. It is washing over my soul this very instant.

Once in a while I bare my soul, more often my soles bear me.
I'm pretty sure...
that you don't have to pull a story from anywhere unless it's on Amazon's Kindle select. But even Amazon does ask such a thing, I have several stories that would still be here.
And let's be honest; Morpheus, Lilith, and a few of the other giants would still crush us both. Probably at once.
P.S. I do read you, but like with everyone else I like to read, I don't read you when I'm writing. Which I admit is a problem, since that's all I seem to do anymore. :)

no way! you should publish!
so I can be the most popular author left!
Bwa ha ha!
(giggles)
Amazon
At times it does feel that way doesn't? Like BCTS readers are simply Beta testers to have stories fleshed out before they get sold.
*shrug* i dont own a kindel, or shop online for anything for that matter...
But there's still some great stuff here, 'Giants' like Morpheus, Lilith, and...Nagrij :P
Morpheus over the years has had people telling him for ages that he should sell his work, but you don't see him doing it. (Most suspect he's already a selling author writing TG under a pin name) but if he hasnt tried selling out now, i doubt he ever will.
Well...
I admit that on the beta tester thing, you might have a hint of truth as far as I'm concerned. This was the first site I posted to, and I did it mainly to see if my writing was good enough for anyone to care about. As for selling my stories on kindle or anywhere else, my justification (or rationalization, if you prefer) is simple. It's to keep the internet on. Since without internet I can't really post anything to BCTS, I think I made the right choice.
Hopefully in the fullness of time, I might make enough doing this to pay all my bills. But regardless of the future, Erin and co will have to boot me to get me to leave; this is a nice place to be. And I'll always have stories here if it's my choice.

I have a story both here and
I have a story both here and that has been for sale on Amazon for over a year and a half.
I may be weird but....
Personally I have purchased more E-books that are still up here then those that no longer are, If i really like it I gotta have it and I will reread it. Those that I have that no longer are up here are mostly ones I have read here first. The rest that I have from authors here on BC are by authors who left at least some of their works up here, the ones left up here sort of serve as a sampler for their work, at least for me.
Part of the reason for me is with all the self publishing now a days it is hard to tell what is worth buying if it is not from a traditional main stream publisher. Reading stuff on BC helps fuel my decisions.
This tendency may not apply to anyone else, but I do wonder what sort of effect leaving stories here or removing them has over all.
