If you would like details send my a PM.
1.) The EMTs revived me.
2.) Within less than an hour the hospital installed a stent which opened the 100% blockage.
3.) Minor muscle damage.
4.) Minor rehab needed.
5.) I was discharged and walked out of the ICU today. In fact I went to my daughter's coccer game tonight.
If you just want to tell me I'm a no good horrible liar, don't bother to PM.

Been there done that
I suffered a PE last year that nearly killed me. Was in the hospital 15 days in all.
Get well and hope to see you back soon.

will not let anybody insult you. Frankly, any that do is close-minded. So rest up and take it easy.

She's Alive!
Jill...
Like I said privately, it's beyond wonderful that you're telling us about this yourself!
Here's a vase of virtual flowers I stole from the neighbor's yard.......GET WELL SOON!
(and I can't imagine anyone accusing you of lying over this. You impress me as being
honest by nature, and I think if you were going to lie you would
pick something a little more exotic...)
Gingerly recuperation hugs,

why fib about being sick. Makes no sense.

I like happy endings...
...especially to real life stories, Jill. I'm glad you're better; now, take care of yourself.
(As to the last line you wrote, doesn't it seem that the only ones who find it easy to accuse others of that are the ones who find the act so easy to do?)

Never even been close
Something I am just slightly grateful for. I do hope the minor muscle damage is exactly that, minor. Look after yourself. I mean who am I gonna argue with about rules and stuff if you go away. Seriously, be well.

Live long and prosper
Just keep well, we can't do without you.
Please, Please
Congratulations on surviving what sounds like a much-too-close call!
Now, please, please follow up on this and take good care of yourself. Make the docs double-check everything periodically. And do whatever you have to to prevent a recurrence.
With love,
-- Pippa.
Not horrible
I believe you, everyone else who commented believes you. So, if you didn't tell the truth about your Sunday, it would make you a very good liar, not a no good horrible one!
I'm glad you survived and are well, please take care and don't do it again!
Mr. Ram
So sorry ....
Angela, I am horrified to learn of your experience. So glad that only minor damage was done. Take it easy and make sure that your recuperation/rehabilitation is complete.
I can't think of anyone less likely to lie. You are passionate about your truths. Long may it be so. People like myself need them to counterbalance our own prejudices. Not that I take any notice of course, but perhaps subconsciously.... :)
Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery,
Fleurie
Thank you To All
Thank you for your understanding.
It's amazing to me that you would readily accept what I find totally unbelievable. How do you digest dying and recovering to the point you feel almost no difference days later?
Tomorrow I go back into the hospital to take part in a voluntary research program. They will harvest stem cells from my hip (about two ounces) and place them in the damaged area of my heart to stimulate regeneration. I will have to go through a ton of testing over the next year and might not even get the stem cells as one in four get a saline soultion as the control group. But I get the benefit of the testing. (Who knows, with that many MRIs I might even get over my claustrophobia.)
AND -- I feel I owe science a bit of payback. I'm tolf the procedure they used on me has only been around for two years and without it I wouldn't be alive today.
Again thank you for your thoughts and kind words.

Golden Hour
In emergency medical treatment there is a saying: "The Golden Hour". This is the first hour after a major medical incident occurs, the idea is immediate, proper medical treatment in that first hour is what makes the difference. While not generally accepted anymore for most situations, it is well-documented that it does make a difference in heart attacks (ironically called myocardial infarction or M.I.). You were fortunate enough to get that care right away.
Something everybody needs to remember: when you see those flashing red lights in your rear-view mirror - Pull over to the right! I see so many people doing the stupidest things when an ambulance overtakes them, like pulling over into the center lanes. Remember, it's the law in all fifty states, you must pull over as far to the right as possible and yield to an emergency vehicle. It may be somebody you care about on their way to the hospital.
Good luck on the research, sounds interesting! Except for the MRI, I hate those things! Just had one, and they have to slip me a little dose of "feel good" to get me to hold still.
You're right
My spouse rode in the front of the ambulance. The cars were horrible.
Most of the worst ones were those on cell phones.
The ambulance caused on accident when he turned against a light and someone not paying attention hit a car in front of them.

Angela, Cell Phones Should Be Banned
in cars. Too many wrecks are caused by silly gossip when drivers should DRIVE. But the lawmakers won't try to create a ban. Politics should never interfere with public safety.

Jill,
I can't express the relief I feel, knowing that you came so close to leaving us, only to be returned by medical science, and your own will. I hope you'll be back to your old self in no time. In the meantime, remember that we love you, and would miss you very much if you left us.

Take it easy and do as your doctors say. We want you around for a long, ,loooooong time.
