My wife's interesting relaxing attitude.

We're getting older. Come March I'll join the ranks of the octogenarians. My wife is only two years younger. Like many of us, as I get older I feel the need to live as my real self more often and more completely. Props to my wife for dealing with a non-binary gender expressing person. (Read transgender in denial.) Five decades ago, when she caught me dressed and we talked about it she said, "Do it if you must, but don't let me see it. About 20 years ago that had relaxed to, "Just don't let anyone we know see you while you're out and about." I was able to wear what ever I felt like at home and come and go dressed that way. Fast forward to this year (and last).

black tee-shirt

In November of last year, my wife had her Medicare Wellness Annual Exam. She dressed in a simple pullover blouse and black knit-pants. These pants were purchased from Catherine's sometime back. At the same time, I purchased an identical pair. I wore the same exact pants. For a top, I wore a black woman's tee shirt very much like this one.

With much the same body hugging fit. Mind you, I did wear a jacket over it.

Hair combs

My hair was pulled back, much like this.

I wore brown Naturalizer loafers with nude knee-highs. I had mascara and near nude lipstick.

Because of my wife's mobility issues, she does the visits in a wheel chair and I go in with her. The doctor and nurse were the same as the ones that I had for my wellness visit. The doctor remembered me The nurse complimented me on my hair combs.

Then just today, she had an appointment with our primary care provider. (We have the same one.) When we went into the exam room, it was warm. So I took my jacket off. I was dressed the same as before only with suntan knee-highs and this time I had on my usual lipstick. I use a dark lipstick as a lip liner and the nearly nude lipstick to fill in the rest.

So there I was, very femininely dressed while the nurse took vitals and while the doctor did her visit. I participated in the interview process helping my wife remember everything she wanted to talk to the doctors office.

My wife allowed it and none of the providers indicated that they noticed. On a side note, my medical records show me a transgender w/pronouns She and Her.

Ah, but the tale doesn't end there. After some ex-rays and a blood draw, my wife wanted to stop by and visit my daughter who was working at our church daycare center. That was stretching things a little since I tend to down play the femme clothes to the more butch side of my wardrobe around family and church. To stretch things even farther, our daughter told us that the pastors were in the youth center next door so nothing would do but we stopped by to see them. We spent over an hour visiting with them.
