I recently read and enjoyed a story written from the point of view of Princess Ozma of Oz. It was the first posting of to be of several about Princess Ozma, her transformation from the boy Tip, and the struggles caused by that transformation. I believe it was from "The Land of OZ" written by L. Frank Baum more than 100 years ago. It was the first Oz book I knew. It was a sequel to "Dorothy and the Wizard of OZ" from which the movie was made. I read most of them eventually. My mother read it to me when I was about five or six. That story was the first thing that made me aware of my dysphoria. Anyway, I cannot find it on Fiction Mania or here. They are back up and I did a pretty thorough search.

First and Fourth
The series began with "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", on which the movie was based. The sequel was "The Marvelous Land of Oz" often shortened to "The Land of Oz". The fourth book was "Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz".
TVtropes has an entry for the fanfic Ozma Sees Herself by Edward Einhorn. TVtropes claims it wasn't put online. Might this be the story?

Correct
At one time I knew the sequence of stories. I had several first editions plus many more. A relative "borrowed" them unknown to me, never to be seen again. He died before I found out what happened.

Hmm, like 2 last 2 chapters?
Thought I saw it at FM last Wednesday, but the site appears to have lost the last week of stories since the upgrade...
Will check elsewhere as well/ Be well

Well there's OZMA'S STORY, by Matti (2009)
Which was the first thing that popped up when I searched Ozma here at BCTS....
And it sure seems to be a story about the newly transformed Ozian Princess
written from her point of view (I didn't remember it but I must've read it
because i commented on it back then, and so did you...)
But your elusive story couldn't be that easy to find, could it?

Coincidence I'm wearing one of my two Princess Ozma t-shirts today,
that have those wonderful art neuvo-ish illustrations from the books;
But I do tend to wear one or the other a lot at this time of the year....

Story (re)posted on Fictionmania
The story A Princess of Oz Part 1 by Summer has just been (Re?)posted on Fictionmania.
The blurb is: "This is a retelling of the last two pages of _The Marvelous Land of Oz_ (the sequel to _The Wizard of Oz_) from Ozma's point of view."
Hope that's the one you were looking for. Maybe it was 'lost' when FM moved to a new server or maybe the author decided to revise the original post.

Summer's A Princess of Oz is a GREAT story...
...even if it's not the one Portia is looking for, and well worth a trip to Fictionmania.
Both the writing and the storytelling are excellent, and it captures the Princess's struggles
with her gender transformation and her instant journey from the underclass to the ruling class
with compassion and depth- but it doesn't get bogged down. While it's written more for a grown up
audience it stays true to the spirit of the original dozen or so books by L Frank Baum, closer to them than any of those
EDGY re-inventions of the franchise, such as the series Tin Man or Philip Jose Farmer's A Barnstormer in Oz;
with a few unobtrusive nods to the most famous film version of that Kansas farm girl's trip over the rainbow.
For my money Summer is an author worth looking into. I wish she was posting here at BCTS as well...
