A few years ago, Facebook maintained that my password was not as I remembered it and locked me out of my Facebook page. In order to "prove" that I was who I said I was and entitled to access my page I need to pick four friends from a list of six that Facebook supplied who could be sent a code and forward it to me outside FB. I could then list those codes and regain my FB page.
One of those listed was Wren Phoenix. So meant I needed to get four responses from only five possibles. I could only manage responses from two and so remained locked out of my FB page.
However, my email kept receiving notices about what went on on the page. Each time I clicked the link to access the post I got the same message... 4 friends -- code needed. Well just the other day, on a whim I click the link and they offered to let me in if I could receive a text code on my cell. Lo and behold they sent the code to my phone and I was in.
I've changed my password and now I can do what ever I want on the site. Everything seems to be as I left it; there's nothing changed. So expect that there might be an entry or two from me. But it maybe sporadic. It's been so long since I was able to be there that I'm totally out of the habit and I was never too active anyway. Plus I have another page in my RL name and I'm not active there either.

And now they know your phone number too (if it wasn't known to them before).
I'm pretty sure
It was in my profile. I had my RL FB page hacked and whoever (some Chinese speaking guy) hacked it set up his phone number and changed the password. He did some no-no things and FB banned him for life, well my name anyway. It took quite a while before I could get back on FB. I had to use a different name and then I set up the security to require a text to my phone if an unrecognized device was used to try to access my page. I'm sure that I'd have done that with my Patricia page as well.

You managed all this time without
FecalBarf. Why go back now?
Social Media and especially those platforms controlled by the Borg called Zuck is designed to be highly addictive. You broke the spell so why risk getting hooked again?

{Not on any Social Media platform. Any user pretending to be me is doing just that pretending. They are 100000000% fake.}
Never addicted.
I've had a FB account for several years. I ignore the prompts from my phone and the email prompts for my RL account are sent to a Gmail account that I set up specifically for that purpose so I don't see them. I don't check my Patricia Allen email but about once a week if that often. As a result, when I do go on FB there are twenty plus notices stacked up.
In my RL account, I only have 7 friends. Most of the 20+ notices are friend suggestions. I ignore those and screen the rest and ignore notices about my friends commenting on someone else's post. So I'm in and out in about 5 - 10 minutes. Maybe 30 minutes a month.
My PMA account, much less than that. Maybe five minutes a month.
So not at all addicted.
