Just letting you know that when I clicked onto the site and had to log in, it didn't return to the home page but went to a page with just the stories and every time I try to log back in, it does the exact same thing.

A known issue
you are being served a stale page. Look at the URL and you will see it is not the normal homepage.
I'd start by clearing your cache and restarting your browser. If you get this page again, just edit the URL in the browser to give you the proper homepage.
Yes, it is frustrating to get logged out all the time (or at least the browser/site context thinks that you are when on the homepage) but most of the time, you are not logged out. If you go to a story page you will often see yourself logged in again as if some magic has happened.

Try using the Home link at the bottom of the page. It always brings me to the normal page. That includes a fresh page, everything up to date.
