Regrettably they are not the edible kind, but at least it means progress - of a sort.
Tomorrow (22nd April) I go to London for a pre-operation consultation.
Then, on 15th May, the operation has been penciled in, subject to change, blah blah. They have described it as a triple bypass, which doesn't sound too bad, but in fact it will be changing out two blocked heart arteries and fixing an aneurysm. That last could be what turns this from a 'simple' production line procedure to something more ambitious. I'll know more by late afternoon tomorrow.
I'm not going to write any more or guess the future until we come back on Tuesday with more information, but since I just posted #89 I intend to get #90 done before I go in. I have three weeks, what could possibly go wrong?
We all know what happens to good intentions... which is why I won't promise anything.
I will update everyone once we're back, probably Tues evening or sometime Wednesday.

Bypass surgery
A few decades ago, a relative of mine went in for triple bypass (age of 75). That went well but he had an unknown aortic aneurysm that blew out! Oops! The story goes that they had to rip out one of the bypasses, fix the aneurysm, and then replace the bypass! He survived (and was reasonably active) for another 10 years!!
Hang in there and best wishes!

I will be keeping you in my thoughts……
And may even offer a prayer or two for a skilled surgeon with steady hands, and for a speedy recovery.
Although I have not been on speaking terms with God for many years, having lost my faith a long time ago, I have made the occasional plea for intercession on behalf of friends and family. I’m pretty sure that God doesn’t listen to me, and I truly doubt that any supreme being would do anything for me with my past record, but as the saying goes, the sun even shines on a dogs ass every once in a while.
Seriously, I will be thinking of you and will make a stop to by my prayer spot to ask a favor of God. Many years back, I found a small nook outside of an old church near my home that seems to have a calming effect for me. It is where I go when I feel the need to speak with the Almighty. I haven’t visited it much in recent years, but this sounds like a good time to have a conversation. I dare not ask for anything for myself, but there is little I would not do or ask for a friend.
As my NCOIC used to bid me, here’s wishing you fair winds and following seas. And please keep in touch - I have no desire to see another member of this site go suddenly quiet.
