A week has passed so I got more credits from DeviantArt and set out to use them, and this week's resulted are... mixed. Not in that I dislike the images, but it's weird for reasons I'll get into in a bit. First, the art:
First, Janet from Mother & Daughter, toward the end of/after the story's events when she's working for Heavenly Talent. This is... okay. The face isn't great in that it's too small, and no amount of FaceApping seems able to repair it, but it's giving the 'vibe' I wanted for the photo (even if, originally, she looked more like 60 than the 45 she's supposed to be here).
Next up, obviously, Jamie-Lee Burke. I mean, it is the Jamieverse after all. When I first created the computer-generated images of my characters back in 2015, it took me half an hour to get an image of Jamie that matched what I had in my head. This time, this was the very first image of Jamie that was created and the AI nailed it first time!
And after Jamie, there's Stuart, and despite the hair and stubble being a little longer than I'd have preferred, both those things can be explained away from a storyline perspective (I mean, both of those things do grow).
And finally, Jacinta. This is a weird one in that it took the most editing, but at the same time, is probably the cloest I've yet come to matching my mental image of one of my characters.
What's weird about this exercise is that while I enjoy it, and intend to continue, I've had the computer-generated images in my head for almost nine years now, and yet they are, for want of a better way of putting it, basically Skyrim faces whereas these AI generated images look more like the characters than my own carefully hand-edited images do. And that's... unsettling, in a way. It's a hard thing to put into words. when I look at the image of Jamie above, I am undoubtedly looking at the face of Jamie-Lee Burke. And yet it's still not perfect, and probably never will be.
Anyways, enjoy the art. More coming next week. :-)

Those hands, though
I've heard that AI image generators can't do hands. I suppose they're not the first thing you look at, so it's okay... but I'd say that I have to agree: hands still look like a problem.

Ophelia please
Just finished reading ‘Jacinta’ for the 2nd time because I absolutely love Ophelia. Would love to see how you picture her.
