Birka's Theorem:
Love of Money is a Virtue

  1. Given: Money is an agent which facilitates voluntary trade.
  2. Voluntary trade causes each party to gain something which is of higher value to him or her than what was given up in the trade.
  3. Money is the facilitator of mutual gain.
  4. Mutual gain improves the quality of life.
  5. Money improves the quality of life.
  6. To love money is to love the improvement of life.
  7. Love of the improvement of life is a good and admirable quality.
  8. Love of money is a good and admirable quality.
  9. Given: By definition, Virtue is a good or admirable quality or property.
  10. Love of money is a virtue.
