The Little Girl's Song

for Lizzy

Stay they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
This King you may not see, pa rum pum pum pum
Nothing that you may sing, pa rum pum pum pum
Could ever please this King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
Should I not come?

Then I prayed to him, pa rum pum pum pum
I'm not the boy you see, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no song to sing, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Shall I stay away, pa rum pum pum pum,
Will I not come?

Yea he spoke to me, pa rum pum pum pum
A girl you are I see, pa rum pum pum pum
And you are pleasing, too, pa rum pum pum pum
My heart has love for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
He called me to come.

* * *

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother's womb.
I thank you, High God–you're breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!

Such a short

revision of a classic Christmas song, but it brought tears to my eyes anyways. Thank you Drea! :)

Hugs!

Yes, you are, my dear. A wonderful, precious gift to all who know you. Merry Christmas.

Amen!

Beautiful! Exactly how I believe God sees us! Very nice!

This is my least favorite Christmas song

Followed closely by the Carol of the Bells. It is also one of my favorite Christmas stories. This new look is touching... and a true representation of the true message of Christ and Christmas.

Having been rejected by some churches for being trans and a lesbian, I know something about how some have lost sight of the message. And we all know that rejection hurts.

I won't go through the litany of clichés about our relationship with the Creator. The truth is that God is Love. Given that premise, any claim that 'God hates...' is just plain wrong.

As pitiful and pathetic as we each may feel from time to time, we are loved by the One who made us.

Sorry is this seems to have turned into the sermonette of the day, but this story has so wonderfully encapsulated my feelings and faith.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas

To be or not to be... ask Schrodinger's cat.

My eyes are still full of tears...

Andrea,

This has been one of my favorite Christmas songs and your version of it has made it oh, so much better. The thing that transition brought to me (one of the only things that I regret) is that worship is harder. Congregations turn their backs on us even if we grew up in their midst. It's a shame because I find it easier to praise God after my transition because this is how God made me. They would see that I still praise God the same way I did in my youth, joyfully.

Thank you so much for your wonderful homage to the little girl in all of us who would truly see God's love for us if we'd only open our eyes.

Merry Christmas!
Caroline

Moving version of the lyrics

I wish the local holier than thou radical "christians" could understand the thought behind that version. Unfortunately, they are so puffed up in their assurance that they and only they know the way to heaven that they'd never consider anything else.
