Hi all,
well this has been a VERY eventful fortnight (that's two weeks by the way).
I went along to the UK in my car; it seems that nowadays I can readily predict that that journey takes very close to 12 hours in each direction, allowing for check-in times for the tunnel or ferry.
So I was in the UK for a birthday party and for house hunting. I saw a few houses but there was always a something or somethings wrong with them, so I drove back to Switz on the Sunday, exactly a week ago.
On the Monday, one of the Estate Agents (realtors) telephoned me about a house that seemed to fit our requirements exactly. So I arranged a viewing for the Thursday morning as soon as I had found a suitable flight and car hire for the Wednesday evening.
To cut a long story short, the house the Estate Agent had suggested proved to be unsuitable - HOWEVER, I did find another house with another Agent and that was just perfect - well 92.7396% (approximately) perfect anyway.
I had a viewing on the Friday, made an offer to the Agent Friday night, when I had to sign all the forms to let them do a credit check. It was as I just stepped over the threshhold from the jetway onto my return plane on Saturday afternoon that the Agent returned to me (on the phone) and told me we had been successful, and now have the house from the middle of March.
Ho hum.
That means we are the proud possessors of no less than three properties from March to May!
So you can see I have been busy.

Penny and I have been talking, we have a great new slant that we have discussed, so my future JoB stories that I had already written have had to be adjusted to incorporate this new wrinkle. This has meant a lot of cutting and pasting (sort of an author's jig-saw puzzle really) and it requires a few more links, hints dropped here and there, and so on.
I hope to have the next two episodes ready before mid-week.
Provided always that I do not need to suddenly drive or fly back to the UK for some unforeseen event ...
A N D ...
I had a swift drink with the multi-talented 'Cyclist' (aka Steph) before I went through the departure procedure at the airport on Saturday.
Today, I am busy lining up lists of things I need to do to eventuate the Great Move into the house in a month's time.
I will then try to finish polishing the next JoB and getting it sent off for proofing etc etc.
Have a great Sunday, you all

Wow
Eventful is an understatement.
I am excited for you hon. as well as excited about all the upcoming material.
It just occurred to me as to why a Skype house hunting session does not become an offering for long distance buyers at least.
Congrats
Well, good on you. However, I don't envy you the move from Switzerland to the UK. We've been in our new home (the one we retired to) just shy of a year. We made the offer on it December 30th 2016 and closed on it February 16th 2017 and moved in the first weekend in March.
We had been living in the previous place for 11 years so to facilitate the clean up and discarding things that should never have been moved there in the first place we paid an extra months rent. It was like working two jobs. work all day, go home to the new house and do the things necessary to make it a home, then on the weekend, go to the old house and work at getting it ready to turn it back to the landlord.
A real chore. And we were only about a 50 minute drive apart. I can't imagine the logistics necessary to do that with a 12 hour drive or an hour and forty-five minute flight. Good luck... I'm sure you love your new home when all the work is done.
Hugs
Patricia

Congrats
Many congrats on the success in the long-time search for a new home in England. I think we all understand that there might be a longer pause between the new parts of JoB. That will just make them more wanted. I just can deplore that I cannot visit you in Schweiz. This year my health "business" has been more favourable for a European tour. All the best for the preparations of THE MOVE and continued writing.
