Can we expect a part 2?

Enjoyed part 1 very much, but I note that almost 3 years have passed sin it was posted, so I wondered if there is actually a second part in the pipework? I would love to see this story continue.

I would love too

But it's not on the horizon at the moment. Sorry.

NOW it's on the horizon :)

Coming maybe this year, Pink! the sequel to Hired Girl. I'll be collaborating on this one with an HG fan who didn't just wish for a sequel, she started writing it as fanfic and I asked to help and make it canon. :) So... details later but we are up to chapter 5. :)

Does Harold become Polly?

I too clicked on this hoping for part 2 of Hired Girl. After a re-read (gosh this is clever writing!) I have to agree, Part 1 does come to a good closure point. But it got me to thinking. And I almost think Ricky's "Polly" could be a continuation. A sort-of, after high school, next step.
No? Well I like it. And short of trying to equal Erin's obvious talent, in my mind that is how it goes.
Hmm, now that I think of it, I'll bet that with a bit of trying we could link up other stories the same way. It boggles the imagination. I don't mean to take away any of the effort many fine authors have put into the work, it just seems that we all know that nobody's story ends with "and they lived happily ever after." After all, why do we keep reading "Bike"? Because we know life goes on.
Thanks for the reposting Erin. It's a good read.

LOL, okay

Now I have to re-read Polly by Ricky. :) What do other readers think?

I read this kindle story as well

I found that it is short and it does read like a part one to a larger story. It seems the writer just suddenly ended the story as things were starting to get interesting. I sincerely hope that Joyce continues this story so we find out how Carol’s life will change as she works as a hostess in the restaurant and has to deal with the other employees and with customers. Then, of course, will she go back to school as a girl? I enjoyed the story, it’s just that it ended far too soon and too suddenly.

Just Voting.

I'm just here voting for part 2 and more.

Plans

erin's picture

I have plans for a sequel but what would really help me get them done would be some more nice reviews on Kindle. :)

Not Minimally Qualified

I tried to write a review but apparently I have to spend more with Amazon.

Yep can NOT review...

Hypatia Littlewings's picture

... if you don't spend enough.

Amazon's review policy is really stupid on this point, if you think about it.
What people who do not buy a lot of stuff, actually do buy, and their reviews would seem to be relevant. instead of something to hide.

Just finished on kindle

There is

There's even a preview of the cover on Patreon. :) I'm just not sure how long it's going to be before it appears.

A sequel is planned

Harold/Carol's adventures will continue when they go back to school in the fall in the sequel, "Pink!" by Melanie E and Joyce Melton.

Look for it in about 6 months. Glad you enjoyed our first installment. :)

Since you seem to be speaking for Joyce, I am assuming that Joyce Melton is a pseudonym for you. I am happy that you are looking into making a part 2 for hired girl, as it is a good story.

LOL

Yes, Joyce Melton is my real name. :)
