You ever start writing a story, and feel sure you know what direction its heading, only to have the story head off in a completely different direction?

Some times, I swear, it doesnt feel like I'm as much creating the stories as releasing them from captivity ....

They come from Poughkeepsie,

They come from Poughkeepsie, right?

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

I am NOT worried

because I know where I am! I am right here, all of me, because I know for sure I AM NOT ALL THERE...

Don't let someone else talk you out of your dreams. How can we have dreams come true, if we have no dreams?

Trying too hard

I have had writers block a few times. I think I now know the reason for it.
I have had one and only one story where I knew the ending before I started writing. The ending was 18 parts later yet I knew all the time while writing it, where it would end up. I also knew three important way-points for the story along the way.
Then I had so much fun writing that story that I tried too hard to sort the ending out before I started writing and failed miserably. In the end, I simply gave up writing for months on end until I got the urge again and and idea for a story to mind and bingo... a few hours later, it was done.

Since I ended my latest block I've been going through the virtual plethora of started but not completed stories that litter the 'Ramblings' folder on my MacBook. Some will get finished but many won't. For many, I hsve no idea where the inspiration for them came from.

To sum up, 'how long is that piece of string that you have in your pocket?'
No one knows until you try to measure it.
