well, I had my first all day group counselling today, and it was pretty good. After spending time doing some self-evaluation paperwork, I was able to join the group for the 2nd "class" of the day - which was all about early warning signs of an oncoming emotional crisis, and what you do to nip one in the bud. After lunch, we had a class on boundaries and trying to learn to be neither too soft or too hard in making them. Then for our last class of the day we discussed time management and making priorities.

I made a decision to not mention my trans status to the group, although of course the doctors running the classes know, and the neat thing was, it happened to be all women, and at our lunch break I mentioned that fact, and one of the others said they wished for a male just for the different point of view - clearly not thinking of me as anything but just another woman.

The only bad thing about this program is they are not set up to deal with either PTSD or trans issues, so I still need to find support for those, but I'm going to try and get whatever benefit I can from this program in the meantime.

counselling session...

Good, I'm glad you found something this helpful, even if it's not aimed at either PTSD or trans issues specifically.
