Wishing you well

Sorry to hear (read) that. I hope you recover soon.
Jessica

Please, very please, get ...

... checked for cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, bad "blood lipids" (fats) ratios, diabetes and and high blood pressure. Get treatment as appropriate to reduce.

Right now, please drop your consumption of fats and oils as low/lower as you can manage. This should (sigh, slowly) reduce your chances of another stroke or of a heart attack.

More info here: https://www.pcrm.org/health-topics/heart-disease, and https://www.pcrm.org/, all free.

That's Horrible

Some things just aren't fair.

You're a strong person. Lean on the BC community, if you need help working your way through this.

Get someone to pester the doctors for you

Getting treatment and rehab as soon as possible is vital and you shouldn't have to do the pushing yourself in that condition. So get the most persuasive and dogged person close to you to do it for you.

Strokes are a nasty reverse lottery. Sometimes you make a full recovery (my father got back everything except very fine motor skills) sometimes you don't (I wont get into details about my mother).

give

the Brizzle collective a call if you need anything, in the meantime be hugged.

Strokes are nasty things, i've had several friends struck down, the degree of recovery has been different in each case, i hope yours has been at the lower end of the scale.

I hope it was minor, please let us know as soon as you can.

Life is full of

nasty surprises and this is one you can do without, Hopefully the stroke was at the lower end of the scale and you will soon be back on the road to recovery, In your comments to various topics on this site you come across as a very positive woman, Something i am sure you will make full use of over the next few months, Thinking of you.

Sorry to Hear That.

I do hope that it is a one off, and that there are no more.

Blessings

Oh fuck!!

I sincerely hope you're not too badly affected Ang. You obviously still have a high degree of cognisance so I hope no severe or permanent damage has occurred.

Do you think your OU degree might have overstressed you. It certainly pushed Helen to the limit and she had to reduce the number of modules in the last two years because our kids were doing O & A levels and the domestic burden proved too much.

I know how much the degree means to you but don't get too stressed by pushing too hard for too long.

Perhaps you could visit?

The last Comment that I had from her was that she was hanging out in Exeter. Perhaps you could be of some help?

Stroke?

A major or a TIA?

Strokes

Rose's picture

They're a horrendous thing. I had several when I had a tumor removed. So many blood vessels went through the tumor that the doctor couldn't save them all; thus it caused a large number of mini-strokes.

Thankfully, the tumor was benign, but the mini-strokes cost me creativity in composing music. I'm starting to get that back, slowly. It takes time, but I'm hoping and praying that you'll bounce back.

Take it easy in the meantime. You are loved!

Are united in insisting that you have a full recovery (as, I'm sure, are all of us). You are our very own National Treasure.

Please give us bulletins when you can.

The Dormice can wait, get well soon and borrow some of Cathys blue light!

I hope you are feeling better. The key to treating a stroke is early detection and prompt action. Hopefully yours was handled well!

Be well, and know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
