On my woes!

So it's Wednesday, after last week's fine, warmish weather things have turned decidedly greyer and cooler.

Sorry for my little strop on Sunday, things just came to a head and the loss of the post was the final straw. So lets recap and give you at least some of what was supposed to be in the Last Post.

On Friday I spent a good part of the day writing, it was tea time when I remembered I needed to go to the ATM so I diligently saved then shut down my PC. When I got back from the bank I got my tea before returning to my work hole to get on with more stuff associated with the new writing, ie putting it up for my Patreon supporters to critique. However, when I hit the start button, nothing, nada, not even a blip, I checked the cables, the power but nothing – it looks like the power module has died.

So okay, it's a recon unit but i've only had it since the New Year so I'm a bit cheesed off, its not like I have the funds to get it sorted. As a result I'm back to my clunky lap top running F#$%fox which led to Sundays loss. On the plus side, I don't really store much on the desktop, my writing is all held externally so apart from web links and a few pics/files that i've downloaded, I haven't 'lost' anything.

Of course you should've had a run down on Thursday and Saturdays rides too, I'll give you a quick synopsis today. After a summer avoiding the coast to avoid the crowds/covid, I decided on a visit to Weston on Thursday. It was a pleasant day and I spent time people watching on the beach before returning to Brizz having accumulated a little over 130km.

Saturday was always going to be the biggy, a trip to Imber on Salisbury Plain. The weather was fine and after an earlier than usual start I reached the remains of the village, the church and the shells of another dozen buildings, for lunch. Quite a few people were making the pilgrimage, a steady trickle on each of the roads in and a healthy number visiting the church for tea and to find out more of the story.

After my lunch I then spent a couple of hours exploring the rarely open roads before starting my journey back. Given it was some 60km just to reach Imber, it'll not be a great surprise when on my return I had 175km under my tyres! It's something off my bucket list, On Sunday a lot of my post was about the whole concept of bucket lists but I'm not even going to attempt to reprise that!

On Sunday I did my stint as domestic goddess, somehow I managed to cook lunch, do some laundry, dye my hair and do a full on makeup and dress outfit! Multitask? Pah.

And so to this week, of course August ended yesterday so to celebrate that and conclude a good month for riding, my ride was a shorter (sic) affair up towards Gloucester, a mere 155km. I've now caught up @ half of my target deficit for the year, will I reach the 16000km mark? There are 4 months to cover 6000km, its doable but I need to make a concerted effort to make it happen.

But i've missed Monday – well it was easy to miss, the weather was a bit grey and my biggest success of the day was to do a brake service on the bike.

Today then, I've posted the next chapter of Time for a Change, Part one had a favourable response, please remember that it was written mostly @ 20 years ago so dates and technology have moved on some. Its a shorter bit this time, please comment to let me know what you think.

That's about it, in a bit I'll get ready to go shopping – Lidl have a variety of Germanic goodies on offer this week (grin).
