Oh yes, those of us in England at least had an unwelcome gift last night, the removal of November from the 2020 calendar! -break-->Yep, seems that from Wednesday we join France and Germany in a new national Covid lockdown in the vague hope that there will be Eid, Xmas and New Year in December. So its back to furloughs, empty streets, closed stores and no use of public transport, difference is, the weather may not be so clement and the smile and carry on we saw in the spring will, I'm sure, quickly turn to frustration as 'daily' exercise is less of an option in cold, wet weather.

And as if to push that point, the last few days have been iffy to say the least. The forecast on Thursday was for sunny with a couple of showers, having got a bit damp on Wednesday I restricted myself to a walk to the shops so of course, most of the day it was sunny!

Friday arrived grey and drizzly, I wanted a ride and resigned myself to getting wet again, however, wet is one thing, being soaked for 6 hours another so I settled on a for me, rare sub 100km ride down to Bath and back. The riding wasn't too bad, I stopped for tea and soup at @ 3/4 distance and completed 50km for the day. Not what I'd envisaged earlier in the week but that's the way it goes.

The forecast for yesterday (Saturday) was even worse, I don't have to go out and gale force winds and rain were excuse enough to leave the bike indoors. It was a disappointing end to a month where I've been making good progress in my recovery from tarmac sliding, I might not be fixed but getting there.

I am still on course to reach my 10k mile target for the year, I'm just over 500 miles (800km) shy atm, so I should reach my target in about a fortnight. Yes I can still go riding despite the new lockdown, its about the only entertainment available - its a bit muddy and wet for serious walking.

So I guess you want reading matter, Guilty as charged will be it then, chapter 14 of Avoidance.

Well I guess that's it for today,
Keep well - Tschuss
