YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT I WRITE, YOU DON'T LIKE WHERE ITS GOING THEN DON'T READ IT!

Thank you to everyone who reminded me that I can't let people like that win.

I'm on your side

I agree with you. People who have problem with how a story is written should remember that it did not cost them anything. If they cannot offer criticism or comments without offending people, they should not try to do so.

I don’t know

What was said but i’ve enjoyed all your stories. I agree don’t let the haters win.

For some...

For some its not about cost but about being able to poke holes, point out errors and the thrill of claiming to be proven right. They tend to be jerks with little concern given to what they do. They just love to antagonize others faults because of their own failings. For others its a misnomer that they think their helping the writer as they just belittle them. Read how many claim that they are 'just pointing out something' without giving meaningful insite (yes I misspelled that purposely) not knowing that it might get under the writers skin. Others don't care as they write in anger and hit that 'submit' button then quickly move on.

But you see like everything is some way it did cost them. For some they feel that their time was wasted reading something which cost them time but didn't stop when they could have. Or should have.

For others like writers it take time and effort to write something down and give it meaning. There are many stories I've read through that look more like manuscripts waiting for the writer to flesh it out only to have the writer say it's what they intended. Partial story writing if you ask me. For me that is a waste of my time and so forth and I've learned to quickly move on.

But for others like EoF, as with several other writers they work to put effort within their stories only to be slammed for a few mistakes that can slip by or misbegotten ideas that the reader doesn't know hay about. That's the time on their part which they should keep it to themselves as many readers don't care about it.

Future predictions are just that 'predictions' not really expected some of what we have now while getting lucky on what we do have. Just not in the form we expected. And when they can actually foresee into the future then I'm sure they'll know exactly when mans reign is about to end as with where to place the next bet on getting rich be it the lottery or stock market.

I'm still waiting on my flying car promised to me back in the 1920's. As with my jetpack.

I totally agree

There are times that I wish that authors had an option to moderate comments made about our stories. I've had a few in which I wish I could have deleted. Such as childish remarks made on issues in the story that was insinuated but never directly stated.

Such "children" (my apologies to actual children) don't seem to understand nor care that inspiration to write anything be it poetry, stories, books or music, comes from a very fragile part of the human spirit!

At BC, comments are considered derivative works and are attached directly to the stories. This makes them under control of the authors as far as whether they are displayed or not. You want a comment on one of your stories removed, just ask in PM to me. You don't have to give a reason.

Hugs,
Erin

... so very much for putting it back up.

Best decision. Don't ever let the haters win. Your work is worth far more than their lowly opinions.

I don't know

what or who provoked you, but when I saw your statement, it reminded me that I've spent many, many hours of enjoyment reading your stories and I haven't said thank you often enough. I will make more of an effort to leave feedback in the future, but please keep in mind that for every critic, there are so many more of us who check this site daily hoping to find some new story or chapter penned by you.

Look at all the music groups, artists, novelists, actors, actresses, pilots, etc that didn't make it. I never sit in the pilots seat of a 747 but I flew my share of things that get off the ground. If you read about me as a pilot it wasn't good. At a job interview the HR looked at my resume and mouthed without saying it, impossible.
The point is I've always done the best I could do no matter the job. My cooking? No one got food poisoning or died. Sure they complained but no one took over the job. More than one job was thankless. No one else wanted it or could do it.
Writing is the same. I do the best I can with what is given me. I appreciate all the critics, good and those who want to pick it apart. I guess where I'm different from most writers is I've been an editor and a writer. I've done my share of walking on egg shells trying to conjole writers into changing 'their next Tom Clancy' story so it has some life to it. I know the writer gave birth to it, nourished it along until it became a story in their mind. Some of them one could burn their house down and they would take less offense than if one called their story into being factual or grammatically incorrect.
The world isn't going to change as it is human nature of those who give birth to a story to believe it is their baby. And there are those who delight in slicing and dicing everything they read. Couch Potato Editors who wouldn't know a good story from a bad one if it slapped them in the face.
Speaking of which, I want to remind everyone I failed virtually every single English class I took. So take what I have to say with more than a tub of doubt.
Daddy told me, if I wanted to do something go ahead and start. Someone would be along to tell me how to do it even if they knew less than I did. Gotta love human nature. Read Nunan's tag line at the bottom of his posts. Very appropriate.
Hugs Everybody

You're a great writer.

And there are many around here but recently you are one of the few that i click on instantly if i see a story or chapter posted.
I would cry if you removed your stories or left the site, guess there will always be someone who don't agree with how a story goes but please don't let it get to you!
You keep doing you, and keep giving us captivating stories to read. Pretty please:)

Just remember also EoF

There is an option to ignore people. Don't be afraid to use it for it was placed there for a reason.

Brava!

All I can say is thank you for not giving up! I can understand how cutting and painful people can be when you put so much effort into something and then are subjected to a narrow little mind with a stunted heart. I suspect the majority of such winds up coming from those who are jealous of the talent they see. They feel the only way to make themselves better is by trying to bring down others.

I just want you to know that like others who have posted, you are one of my FAVORITE authors that post here! When ever I see your name a grin breaks out on me and I can’t wait to click! My greatest wish for you is to truly understand wonder and enjoyment many of us get reading your flowing of imagination. The second greatest wish,,, Pleeeeeeeeeaze continue “Unusual Clownfish”? ;-)

Online haters are cowards...

...That hide behind a computer screen. YouTube is flooded with them, as is Facebook and TWITter.
Sadly BCTS also has a few. They regularly destroy inspirations and many stories remain unfinished because of it.

You have my support EoF! :)
