The volume of the sun in cubic cubits (natural or Roman) is ... but wait. Why should I tell you? The reason I figured this out was so I'd know something that no one else in the world knew and, if knowledge is power, why would anyone want to share it?
I used to know the speed of light in furlongs a fortnight, which alliterates nicely (though cubic cubits isn't bad), but someone told me they saw that printed in a book once, so I had to find something else to know.
Joy,
Jan
PS: BTW, something is wrong with the front page, and it is all stretched out. Maybe it is just some setting on my 'puter that got messed up, but I thought I'd tell someone. :)
I've Got the Front Page Problem Too
The section with the story information isn't compressing and text wrapping like it usually does. I'm using Firefox 3. It was fine yesterday
Yes me too.
I thought I'd changed something on my PC.
btw speed of light = 1 ft/nanosecond :)
Geoff
What?
Tell me what you mean by what you're saying, because I don't see any problem.

STANMAN, This means you!
Do not draw lines with the underline key or any other repeated keystroke. There's an html command for drawing a line <hr>
Use it!

Fixed, TY, Erin
You got it fixed before I could explain.
Thank you much, Erin.
(I know I could have done this with a PM, but then I could have talked about cubic cubits, etc.)

now you did it
NOW Everybody knows!
Furlongs
Furlongs per fortnight has always been my favorite measure for velocity. Of course distances should really be measured in Smoots.

Smoots
The speed of Light = 213,085.53 smoots per nanofortnight. And now you know. According to Wikipedia, Oliver Smoot, after whom the unit is named, grew up to become the President of ISO.
