Well yeah
Not every protagonist needs to be turned into a girl. But a total rejection of their experience is dull too. Not worth writing IMHO as the whole purpose of a story is to have the JOURNEY you make your character travel mean something.
Christina was not "turned into a girl" per se but she is so intrinsically feminine I think it will be difficult for her/him to be a 'manly man'. I do not see Chris becoming the submissive sort either. Whatever person he/she turns out to be, will be a stronger one.
That is probably the plus side of all this.
On the minus side, I do not see things coming out well with her new 'family' with a reversal. I do not see how a reverse changed Chris would find the community about him/her understanding. This would be a fiasco of an ending as it would be unrealistic and Pollyannish. "Let's play the Glad Game" *Rows eyes*.
In a way it is good that the Admiral has been interrupted. I am hopeful that when he gets back to writing that there is less time pressure to end the series prematurely as I understood he was planning to do; like in another 4-6 chapters or so from the one we are currently at. This may mean a less abrupt ending that is not in keeping with the introspective flavor of the previous chapters and consequently a more satisfying one - not to mention we get more chapters to read :).

In view of the lame job Chris was doing at being a male, and the admirable and flawless job she is doing as a Female, I can't see how Chris can do anything but go the route; the whole banannarectomy/excise lower brains proceedure. :)
It just occured to me that the poor guy could be off on one of Bush's dumass errands. Poor guy.
I just can not fathom Chris EVER being a credible male!
I and others know how it was trying to measure up to the two dance ball. Some probably had wives, like mine who did not think I was masculine enough. I did all the tree topping, white water rafting, Motor Cycle hill climbing,
Elk shooting, and dodging sparks anyone should ever have to do in their whole life. Geeze she even bought me a Dodge Cummins, 4x4 Pickup set up to be a snow plow, and I drug a 30ft 5th wheel over half a dozen western states for her. As we were climbing into it on purchase, she sat on the other side of the cab and said, "Well, maybe this will make you more masculine".
About a month before she ejected me from the house, she said that I presented myself as a gay man. She wasn't even close to what the real problem was.
So, yeah, IMHO, there are some issues being worked out in CC. He probably doesn't even know it yet.
