I'm a new member, so there are some things I still don't understand. What does Ignore User do exactly? What is its purpose?

Ignore User

From the Drupal manual: This module allows a user to "ignore" content from other users that they do not wish to view. Node and comment content from an ignored user is hidden from view on a page. A message is displayed above the hidden block of content with a link to the user's "ignore list" and a link to toggle display of the ignored user's block of content in that node or comment.

Note that it hides CONTENT, not links to content. So links to comments and posts will show up and if you click on them, you may be taken to view the ignored content. It also works if you just ignore people you want to ignore all by yourself. :)

There's a similar capability in the Private Message system that lets you block someone from messaging you. That doesn't always work either. :)

Hugs,
Erin

Thank you.

Thanks for clarifying that, Erin! (Doubt if I'll want to use that function :))

You'll feel guilty about it on occasion.

I do, anyhow. But it is a very handy function to have, and in my opinion is handled with a good deal of respect for the block-ee as well.

At least I've never read any complaints from them :D
