Here it is, my one good idea of 2012.

I have been doing a lot of research on selling books on Amazon, and let's face it, if we put a book on Amazon, the whole idea is to sell it right. I am wondering how many fellow author's will be willing to join me so we can do things to increase our sales and visibility on Amazon. There are actual things we can do that don't require any money (or very little). The thing is, everyone has to be vested in coming through.

Here is a short list of what we can do for each other:

Review each others books. I want honest reviews for my books, I don't care how many starts but I would never give a fellow BC author less the 3 but I stick to 4 and 5 star reviews. It would be important for it to be a verified amazon sale, which is simple, because we can arrange a day for the reviewers to purchase the book and set the price at 0.

Like each others book page. The more people who like your page, the higher it goes on Amazons search engine. The higher it goes, the more likely people are to see it and buy a copy.

Click on tags, add tags tags are actually important to Amazon. They work the same way as likes. So, for instance, in God Bless the Child, one of my tags is child abuse. If a person searches for child abuse in Amazon, she with the most tags wins. Also with reviewing each others work, we can add tags too. More tags, more people to see the book.

We belong to a special community here, and there is no reason why we shouldn't help each other out. I am willing to do all of what I said in return for reciprocity.

Also, not an author, no problem. You can do all of the above as a show of support (plus get free e-books in exchange). Anyone with me?

Ok.

I'm down.

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair

I'd like to help...

... but I'm not sure I'm going to leave my book on Kindle.

It's risky I know, but I'm still looking into starting my own site for e-books, since sales of my book have gone right down now and it's not worth me jumping through the hoops to get the tax exemption for Amazon.com.

My next book is about half way through and I'm hoping that it, A Witch In Time, some titles from some established authors that have shown interest and a planned anthology in which I'm hoping to feature authors from here will kick-start the new e-bookshop.

Perhaps there will be something in that for authors from here to not only sell some books, but also make some money into the bargain. It's sketchy at the moment I know, but I'm working on it.

Roll on the New Year.
