cant remember the name of it for the life of me.. pretty sure its on this site. its a story off in the future man is lost to earth and have evolved into a hermaphrodite species ..

main character has an old earth ship with AI on it, its covered in extra plating to hide its strange make. at start character dose not know its an old earth ship .. just one of a make not seen before.

for some reason i don't remember it ends up warping to old earth. where he is clanged back to a normal human female by the AI ..roams about earth a bit guided by an advanced old earth AI eventually goes looking for her people to bring them back to old earth...

through the series she runs in to progressively worse trouble .. the earth AI has a new and better ship to handle it .. each new ship gets the AI from the original moved to it

last of the chapters has her kids going on a mission to find more changed humans. get in trouble as they find two sects a mutated and not fighting each other . the get split a ship captured by each or the two sects.. hears countering stories. bad guys show up.. main character from first stories mom comes to rescue .. ancient form of the bad guy's show makes friends

would like to read it again cant remember enough to search it up.. would be grateful for a point in the right direction
