Hi mom, happy birthday, can't talk long, got a 9:45 am appointment for tit torture. lab req specifies, lab to follow up until a clear diagnoses is possible, including a biopsy if needed, so could be stuck there all day.
A few months ago my right breast was extremely tender and swollen, finally getting mammogram done today. So getting both crushed between glass plates for getting an x-ray done, I think that qualifies as "tit torture"
I had my regular one
about a month ago. In the UK we have them every three years from the age of 50 to 70. Thankfully, everything was clear.

But the extreme tenderness in my right went down with antibiotics in June, the lump is still palpable thought. The very expecting [ 7 months along at least ] lab tech taking the pics could feel it, but the pictures come up clear, nothing there. Even an Ultrasound didn't show anything to be concerned about.
Cancer, Diabetes [ my mom's side of the family ] and Heart problems [ both sides ] being in the family history I seem to get sent for extra testing a lot by my doc, hoping to catch anything serious early.
Though I do laugh at how concerned that I might have early stages of diabetes the docs get so often, in 1974 my doc put me on the diet used to control diabetes, and my 'rents made me stick to it like glue for 5 years. Now, my habit is to eat exactly that same diet, so my risk for getting diabetes is actually much reduced.
Stupidity is a capital offense. A summary not indictable.
mammogram = not fun
I'm one of the men who've had the embarrassing and uncomfortable experience of having a mammogram due to my gynecomastia. The whole thing was quite humiliating, in that the staff had NO CLUE about being discrete, they were coldly impersonal, and now I really sympathize with women when they complain about the procedure. On the other hand, when it does find something that can be taken care of, it's a godsend. There was one funny part, though - with my hormones being so out of whack that I lactate a bit, the look on the technician's face when she squeezed my breast between the plates and a bunch of milk dribbled out was a Kodak moment! She was speechless. So I said, "oh, yeah, did I forget to tell you that I lactate a bit?"
Which reminds me - it's time for another one. Yuck.
