There seem to be some problems with the WYSIWYG editor. I've installed a new version that seems to work correctly in Firefox but has problems in Safari, and some versions of IE. Haven't tested Opera, Camino, ICab or Mozilla. If you need WYSIWYG capabilities, I guess you're safe if you use Firefox or IE7 until they get the kinks out. Sorry.

It's from back in the early days of word processors. The first ones couldn't display a document the way it would print, so formating a document was a bit of a skill. The first word processors that actually show you what your document was going to look like were touted as "What you See Is What You Get", which got shortened to the acronym 'WYSIWYG", pronounced "Wizzy-wig".

Different submission types
When you are posting a story, you can either paste it in from a .txt-type file and add the html formating commands for Italics, Bold, etc. type fonts, color changes, size, etc. Or there is a WYSIWYG editor that allows you to paste in a doc that is already formated with all those options. Like typing a story in MSWord vs. typing it in Notepad.
I really haven't had much luck using the WYSIWYG editor, so I preformat my submissions with the necessary html commands added.
