Minor mysteries of the Top Shelf

When I use my bookmark to arrive here, I get a three column front page. After I log in, the first page I get is a two column page, with everything from the left and center columns of the page I first got. From there, if i click on Home I get a three column page again.

Is there a reason for only two columns when I first log in? Curious editors want to know. ;-)

Hugs!

Curiously

Curiously enough, I get the same behavior, at least on the computer I'm using at the moment, the new Windows XP notebook my friends bought me for Christmas (received on Saturday). (!!!) I don't remember noticing this behavior in Mozilla or Firefox or on the Mac, so maybe it is a browser oddity. The site was designed in Firefox and tested extensively in several other browsers but I only noticed this recently.

Firefox and Safari on Mac OS X

I get the same behavior on both Safari and Firefox on my new iMac G5.

Weirdness

Heck, that kind of thing I can deal with, it is when the program decides that I cannot enable comments on the stories I submit that weirds me out.

I know Erin enabled the comments on the two that have refused, but now I worry that the next one I post will wind up the same way.

I don't know why, nor how to fix it.

PS: I just submitted and it did it to me again!
