I must acknowledge the inspiration I received for a few other stories I have read, but most especially "For a Girl" by O2BXX and "Kate Draffen" by Swishy. One major difference, however, is that I wanted to avoid the nanobots trigger for the change and leave it as a mysterious, but spontaneously "natural" change. This got me away from the one aspect of the nanobots idea that somewhat troubles me - they would seem to be a malicious invention of some unknown but powerful entity, and therefore those affected by them are implicitly "suffering" from something imposed upon them by an external force. I wanted to have a more "natural" thing; essentially the person subject to the change is not being affected by something imposed upon them by anyone else, but simply a spontaneous change that has happened within their own body.

As I added chapters I sometimes reviewed the earlier chapters and fleshed out detail to help the story flow better in the later chapters, so if you come back it may be worthwhile to review the chapters you have previously read.

There is an occasional picture to “flesh out” (both metaphorically and literally) what is being described. I am not a photoshop wizard, so some of the editing of the pictures is a bit hit or miss; they're mainly meant to give an impression of the story, your imagination can fill in the rest.
