Top banana Lewis Hamilton has just won the F1 drivers championship to become World Champion in only his second season.

He needed only fifth place to take the title and after a peculiar beginning to the race where no rain was forecast, yet it absolutely hammered it down, he got to fourth and seemed quite comfortable until with just three laps to go--down came the rain again, enough to make them change to the intermediate tyres.

Timo Glock stayed out on dry tyres and passed Hamilton,making it seem like the championship had slipped away, then on the last corner, Hamilton retook the place to take the title in what has to be the biggest pants-gripper of the season.

Bloody good job Lewis and all at McLaren!

What a race.
