Hello BCTS! I was thinking earlier, hey lets all come together as a community and write a game! (J)RPG style!
For all those interested in helping out I've created a Google Document located here.
Anyone who has that link can edit, but please remember to fallow the rules in the document :)
This is to have fun and come up with a story for a game, maybe even some of the artists here can come up with art work and stuff for the game too :)

Are we talking about homegrowing a system/rule set and implementing it in the RPG Maker VX Ace, or is there a pre-built rule/stat thing in RPG Maker VX Ace that would be used. Or is this just the story part and the rule set is already taken care of?
Really, I'm curious about the scope of what goes into this.

RPG Maker's feature list is pretty well set.
There's some freedom of class design if you want to spend the time to program it, but for the most part RPG Maker has pre-set rules for the way armor, equipment, and stats/abilities all work, it's very typical JRPG. I imagine what Da Kitteh is looking for from us is more along the lines of creative input concerning characters, story, and world design, with those of us who own VX Ace being able to chip in with actual level designs, character/equipment/baddie designs, and so on.

Exactly That, and more if there's people willing to put in more effort, like custom sprites, tilesets etc, but that's not needed since I happen to own a ton of Spirte/Tileset sheets we can use :)

While not up to date
While I'm not up to date on all (THERE ARE A CRAP TON) of sites out there, plus open programs VX ACE is one of the better ones. I would stay away from TOGGLE, and FREEFORM. Both of those are or should be only used by professinal programers. One wrong peice fo code and the WHOLE thing goes out the window withouot a net.

Just to Clarify It's RPG
Just to Clarify It's RPG Maker VX Ace, And RPG Maker VX Ace is highly scale able, with Ruby Scripting and other things.

Currently we are working on a Design Document with Story ideas and such, once we get a General Idea of what we want to do, then we can get into Massive Details :)
