My blog the other day was very brief. Although I knew her death was coming I was still in shock when I wrote the blog. She was one of my virtual sisters in the Evil Witch family. She was my roommate for almost six years. She took in homeless; I was one of them. She edited, and in many cases improved the English of many writers here. She was the virtual mother of Penny Cardin, Heather Rose Brown and Shannon Johnson. Her alter ego was in some of the Little Kids Kamp stories. She tried to unsuccessfully change, for another person, a gold star to a Congressional Medal of Honor. These are just some of her importance. I will miss her greatly. I will be saying Kadash for her.

Note: Holly will be cremated on Monday, 26 August 2013 at 2:00 PM in Indianapolis, IN. If you wish to be there please contact me privately. Information of the burial of the ashes in Freemont CA will be posted as soon as I know the details.

If I may, let me add to what you wrote.
Holly used her own personal funds to buy computers for people who couldn't afford one. She lent support in many other ways, to people who had no support. She gave freely of herself and never ONCE asked to be repaid. She believed in the "pay it forward" philosophy.
She not only "fostered" those who Shelley mentioned, but many, many others. Baruchah, Maggie The Kitten, just to name two more. Holly was truly one of the best and we are all much the poorer for her loss. Holly also never asked to be singled out as the humanitarian she was, preferring to rest secure in the knowledge that someone was helped by her.
I cannot state too strongly the importance of Holly and people like her. She improved all of our lives by her example and I will miss her for the rest of my life, even though we didn't communicate often in the latter years of her life. That is a huge regret for me, for she was much kinder to me than I deserved.
I will not be able to attend Holly's cremation, but I will be there in spirit, with tears in my eyes and regret in my heart that I wasn't as good a friend to Holly as she was to me.
Shelley, I am sorry there is very little I can do to ease the pain you must be feeling. I hope to know that I do care and I am here for you to talk with whenever you need or want to will ease, at least partly, what you must be feeling. I am almost always on skype even though I don't appear to be online. I won't intrude on this private time I am sure you need right now to grieve and to plan the rest of your life, but know that I AM here if you need me.

Shelly I can sympathize with the shock, My words do not spell how much her loss means to us that comment on this. I won't be able to attend the funeral myself either but I will be there in soul.She reached out to many whom she never asked for anything in return and many were the richer for knowing her. She will be missed and remembered by many and the legacy of her heart and caring I hope will live on in us that touched her or she touched how ever briefly.

I have read all the many entries on the blog about Holly & I hope she is smiling about all who loved her . I know from talking to her she would be blushing a bright red from all the KUDOS she is getting about her life helping others she was a very class act that few would be able match

I'm still in shock
Holly was one of those people who lived forever and losing her didn't seem possible. Holly edited several of my stories, Assassin being the latest, all 1100 pages. As I mentioned before I met Holly when i helped her move from Fremont to Walnut Creek, CA. After that we attended several picnics together. I came to know her as a friend more than an editor and she will be dearly missed, Arecee
Apart from correcting typos and mistakes
Holly gave me some useful advice about writing. To my surprise, she seemed to like my writing, especially Bike, starting the archive and running it for a while before passing it over to PS.
I shall miss the tweaks she gave my writing alongside the advice she'd occasionally send me. In fact I shall miss her full stop.
I wish her, her family and friends peace during this difficult time.

A wonderful woman and a beautiful soul
Aunt Holly was an incredible person who started out offering to fix my "kittenese" grammar in my stories and eventually became one of the most important people in my life and I would not be the "girl" I am today if it was not for her kindess, her generosity and both her moral and financial support. She dedicated her life to caring and helping others. She was at her wife's side through her long bought with cancer all the way to the end. She always found time to help any writer or almost anyone else who was ever in need for any reason. She was brave and smart and dedicated and honest and a true woman in every sense of the word. She will be missed but not forgotten and i know right now she is probably editing the next set of the ten commandments for God. Hugs and luv to all her knew her and she will never truly be gone because she will be alive in our hearts forever.
