After my blood tests were finished, I got on the scale just to see what it might indicate. To my shock, it showed that I had lost 25 POUNDS over the preceding couple of months!!!! No, I'm not suffering from some exotic wasting disease, not have I been ill in any other way, save for being sick of heat and humidity.

I try to eat right, sticking to the four major food groups: Sugar, salt, caffeine, and grease, so I am at somewhat of a loss to explain the weight loss. Nevertheless, I am thankful for it and hope that the trend continues until I can get back to my original weight... 6 and 3/4 pounds! LOL!

Hugs and love,

Wow that's great.

Your target is your original weight, huh?

I went to my birth certificate to see what mine had been and there wasn't any listed so I guess I didn't weigh anything. Since I don't believe I want to go there, I guess I'll have to live with what I've got... bummer.

Glad for you.

If you are diabetic

The sudden weight loss would be water being shed.

I lost 140# in 6 months... I never dieted, never exercised (I can barely walk) but then I had a collapse where my heart rate went really high and I started panting to breathe... I went to the hospital and they told me I was diabetic and my sugar was incredibly high...(40 on the canadian testing method [4-10 is 'normal' or desired range]. I was 'lucky' in that they pumped me full of 7Liters of water and a bunch of insulin at 1 hour intervals... and I recovered.

So be wary of sudden weight loss.

Dayna.

In the U.S. most of us are on

In the U.S. most of us are on the high side of our ideal weight and could benefit from losing weight. (I'd be much healthier if I lost about 40 pounds) However, unexplained weight loss should be investigated as it could mean that something is wrong with your body. If you haven't: increased your activity level to burn more calories, changed your diet to consume less calories, or experienced higher than normal levels of stress lately to account for this you should be asking yourself just is causing it. For the record, a high dose of stress is not a healthy way to lose weight either. I'm glad you lost weight but just hope that you keep your good health.

I am soooooo proud of you!

I have been working at losing weight myself. I am 5' 11", and weighed in at 165 lbs. in college. Of course I ran every day due to playing Soccer at the college level, plus had the added requirements of Naval ROTC. At that time, I could do a three mile run in under 15 minutes, and hardly be out of breath at the end. Ah, the joys of youth and constant training.

Of course, after graduating and going on active duty, I bulked up some to 185 thanks to spending too much time around my Marine security element and sharing their training regimen.

As of last fall, I was at 206, at which point I made the decision that I needed to be me - the real me. Among other things, I determined that I was not going to be a fat girl and started to watch my weight.

As of this morning, I am down to 178. I am not dieting - just eating better, and eating less. Plus of course, I started running again and spending time on my bicycle - or a stationary bike while traveling.

I applaud your accomplishment as I know how much it can mean to your well being and your self image.
